Green, president of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), address the ever-changing building industry, including both the opportunities and challenges on the horizon. This talk will cover high-performance buildings, building information modeling, the importance of information exchange, changing energy and water codes and standards, and a host of other topics. There will also be an update on Foundation activities, including legislative strategies and the Mechanical Insulation Education and Awareness Campaign e-Learning modules, as well as a discussion about NIA’s partnership with the Department of Energy and NIBS.

Life-Cycle Analysis Presentation During Associates Committee Meeting
Join Jerry Phelan, Codes and Standards Advocate at Bayer MaterialScience, as he discusses the process and importance of Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA). Mr. Phelan is in the final stages of completing an LCA for the polyiso industry, roof and envelope applications, and will share his knowledge of the LCA process and related topics such as Environmental Product Declarations. Associates Committee members are encouraged to attend the committee meeting and begin thinking about how the LCA process could impact the mechanical insulation industry.
