Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa

Looking Beyond The Horizon. April 1–4, 2009, Kauai, Hawaii

The temperature on the island of Kauai averages between 75°F and 85°F. Kauai has mountainous areas where temperatures can drop 5 to 10 degrees from coastal areas, depending on elevation. Kauai’s climate is tropical and consists of many different microclimates, including sunny dry areas, lush river valleys, temperate foothills, and high mountain rain forests. If you are exploring the island, be prepared for different weather temperatures and patterns. April marks the beginning of the warmer and drier summer season in Kauai. Trade winds help maintain the comfortable climate by blowing away humidity. The Grand Hyatt Kauai is on Poipu Beach on the southern shore of Kauai, known as the sunniest location on the island.

With a variety of daytime and evening events, guests will need a variety of attire. All daytime convention sessions are casual. Golf shirts and resort wear are recommended. Both the Welcome Reception and Appreciation Night will be held outdoors and are business casual. Because these events are held near or on the beach, a light jacket or sweater is recommended for both. The President’s Gala will be Hawaiian formal this year. Men are encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts and slacks, and women should wear sun dresses. Don’t forget to pack appropriate sportswear, including a bathing suit, so you can take advantage of the exercise facilities, golf course, pools, and beach.
