Every year, we offer optional tours and activities for you and your guests. This year, Access Destination Service will be coordinating the tours, providing you with plenty of options to explore Indian Wells and the greater Palm Springs area. Enjoy breathtaking views of San Jacinto State Park, explore canyons on horseback, find out why Palm Springs is called the “playground of the stars” by getting an up-close view of the most celebrated homes in the area, learn about the history of the Sunnylands estate, or experience the real desert on the San Andreas fault line. Palm Springs Aerial Tram (price per person: $87)
The Palm Springs Aerial Tram on Mt. Jacinto is a true adventure. The rotating cable cars guide passengers 2 1/12 miles up the mountainside to a height of 8,516 ft. Once up at the top, the Mount San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness offers 54 miles of hiking trails. Trails range from the awe-inspiring five and one-half mile trek to the 10,804 foot peak of San Jacinto to the just over one mile nature walk through picturesque Long Valley, located just behind the Tram's Mountain Station. This trek to the top of our famous mountain is truly a singular experience!

Celebrity House Tour—Entering the Elvis Estate (price per person: $114) Acclaimed as the “playground of the stars” since the early days of Hollywood, Palm Springs boasts the luxurious homes of such old time favorites as Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe, Sonny Bono, Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant. Today, Palm Springs remains a haven for such well-known Hollywoodites as Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell, Mary Hart, Pete Sampras, and Jerry Weintraub. Guests will have the opportunity to get an up close and personal look at some of Palm Springs’ most celebrated homes.

Sunnylands Tour (price per person: $71) Sunnylands Center is a 17,000 square foot building where visitors can learn more about Walter and Lenore Annenberg and their commitment to serving their country, to philanthropy, to education and to the arts. The Center includes interactive educational kiosks, information panels and videos, an orientation film in the theater, and selections of art from the Sunnylands collection. Guests can also explore the 1.25 miles of trails that wind throughout the 9 acre garden.

Jeep Adventure—San Andreas (price per person: $163)
Experience the real desert and explore the San Andreas Fault’s unique geologic features. Along the way, the jeeps will pass through some of the richest agricultural areas in the world. Learn how our rich soil traveled hundreds of miles to get here which allows the Coachella Valley to grow some rather unique crops. See the beauty of a natural palm oasis, narrow, steep-walled canyons and pools filled with water bubbling up from the San Andreas Fault. Learn how the Indians lived, hunted and used desert plants for food, clothing, construction, implements, weapons, and medicine.
