NIA's 59th Annual Convention

April 2–5, 2014

Hyatt Regency Indian Wells

Indian Wells, California

Indian Wells, located in the Coachella Valley in the Sonoran Desert, has mostly warm and dry weather, with over 300 days of sunshine and less than 5 inches of rain annually. During this time of year, the high reaches the mid-to-high 80s and the low is in the low 50s. The hottest time in the desert is between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.

With a variety of daytime and evening events, guests will need an assortment of attire to accommodate the temperature range at the Hyatt. All daytime Convention sessions are casual; golf shirts and resort wear are recommended. The Welcome Reception and Appreciation Night: 80’s Bash will be held outside; casual attire is recommended for the Welcome Reception and 80’s attire (neon colors, Members Only jackets, etc.) is recommended for the 80s Bash. Because nights can be cooler, with a breeze, a light sweater or jacket is suggested. The President’s Dinner and Dance will be business casual (slacks and sports jackets for men, and dress slacks or dresses for women). Do not forget to pack suitable sportswear so you can take full advantage of the exercise facilities, including the golf course, tennis courts, and pools.
