Keynote Speaker: Jim "The Rookie" Morris: Seeing Past Today

Jim Morris draws upon lessons from his own life experiences to inspire others to become mentors and leaders in their own lives.

Mr. Morris's leadership inspired a group of kids to respect themselves and to reach for their goals. He was a 35-year-old high school teacher who had left his dreams of major league baseball pitching far behind him—but by pushing his students to chase their dreams, Morris found his own. His inspiring story of a meteoric rise from teacher to flame-throwing major league pitcher for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays made cinematic history with the release of the Disney movie, The Rookie, starring Dennis Quaid.

Mr. Morris's presentation encourages attendees to have a vision, which he calls, "seeing past today," and challenges them to set high goals for themselves. His story exemplifies NIA's theme of Amazing Results Driven by Vision.
